Cultural day

Today was Hay Park School Cultural Day. It was great to see all the students dressed up celebrating their cultures.

To celebrate some of the cultures we have been learning about in Bishop Class we made Panipopo (coconut bread) for Samoan culture and rain sticks for Aboriginal culture.

To end our fun cultural day Bishop class and Adams class came together to perform a Haka and a poi dance in the assembly. Everyone did an amazing job and it was fantastic to see Rimati lead the Haka!

Ports Visit

Wow! What an amazing day on our school trip. Everyone was so excited and had a great time doing their scavenger hunt, playing at Silo Park and then on the boat looking all around the harbour!

The bus journey was great using our booklets to see if we could find a bus, the Sky Tower, a crane and more.

Silo Park was the perfect place to have a runaround and burn off some energy from sitting on the bus. It was great to see all the junior students showing the Hay Park way with each other and any other people in the park.

A super day that was enjoyed by all. Some even needed a little rest on the way back to school.

Big congratulations to Kali for getting the Bishop Class award this week. Each day Kali comes into class and makes the room ready for everyone and starts his morning activities! This all happens with a big smile on his face!
